On 9 April 2005 more than 20 Falun Gong practitioners from Sydney and Mittagong came to Canberra, capital city of Australia. They gave a beautiful performance of colourful traditional Chinese dancing and songs in Belconnen’s shopping centre and a fresh food market in north Canberra.
Mr. Jiang Renzheng and his wife encountered severe persecution shortly after they went back China. Because they practice Falun Gong, when they were in Germany, they filed application for asylum status there. Unfortunately, their application was turned down and they had to go back China.
On April 5, 2005, Wu Jialong, the deputy Mayor of Chonqing City and his delegation visited Brisbane, the Capitol of Queensland. Falun Gong practitioners took this opportunity to conduct a peaceful appeal calling for an end to the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in China.

In October of 2002, practitioners of Falun Gong filed a class action lawsuit against former Communist Party Chief, Jiang Zemin, the man who mobilized a Mao-era mass movement against [Falun Gong ] according to CNNs Senior China Analyst, Willy Lam.
The Falun Gong practitioners mentioned in this article were good people of sound physical and mental health. Because they insisted on practicing Falun Dafa and wished to live by the principles “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance,” the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) tortured them until they were physically disabled or had a mental breakdown.
