Lane Cove, a beautiful city north of Sydney Australia, proclaimed “Falun Dafa Day” on August 21, 2004. Falun Gong practitioners from Sydney performed traditional Chinese dances and demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises.
Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer will go to Beijing on August 16, 2004 for a two-day state-visit. Practitioners called upon the Foreign Minister to openly condemn the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in China during his state visit to China. They hoped that the Minister would request China to release those Australian residents’ family members.
This lawsuit has a special historical significance. Chen Zhili’s appearing before the court aroused a strong stir among Chinese officials inside and outside China. This allows those officials to realize that no matter who they are, no matter where and when, they would not be able to free themselves from the crimes they have committed in the persecution of Falun Gong.
Activities began with a Falun Dafa group exercise demonstration on the lawns near a very busy footpath. Many students stopped and watched the graceful movements, while others stopped and spoke with the standing practitioner.
Following the successful rescue of Ms. Li Ying, fiancée of Australian Citizen Li Qizhong, from a Chinese forced labour camp, another couple have been happily reunited in Sydney.
Over the last 5 years, Falun Dafa practitioners on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland have presented regular information displays within the seven main libraries of our local community. These displays have offered the public a unique opportunity to learn more about Falun Dafa.
One man passed by our exhibit, after watching the exhibition, he said, “This is very powerful. I knew little about what is happening in China until now. To think that people are being tortured this way, at this very moment, is shocking. It makes one feel that one wants to know more about the persecution and do something about it.”

Canberra practitioners held candle vigil to commemorate the Chinese practitioners who have been tortured to death in the past five years of persecution.
Nearly 300 Falun Gong practitioners around Sydney staged the 5th anniversary of “July 20” anti-persecution parade. The purpose was to expose the Jiang group’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and to call upon Australian people from all walks of life to work together to stop Jiang’s group from exporting its state-run terrorism to overseas and to bring Jiang to justice.
