Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 were illegally arrested.

1. [Harbin, Heilongjiang] Mr. Tan Honggang Detained
Mr. Tan Honggang was arrested and taken to the Chengjiao Police Station by five plainclothes officers on April 20, 2018. He was later taken to a hospital for a physical examination at approximately 8:00 p.m. that night. He was held at the Yazijuan Detention Centre for 30 days.
2. [Xiong County, Hebei] Mr. Li Chengwu Detained
Mr. Li Chengwu was arrested on August 29, 2016, and held at the Xiong County Detention Centre for 44 days. He was released because he was in danger of dying. Despite his condition, he was still put under house arrest for a year.
On March 9, 2018, he was put on the wanted list because Guo Junxue, captain of the Xiong County Domestic Security Division, brought his case to the Xiong County Procuratorate. On May 1, Mr. Li was arrested and has been detained at a local police station since then.

3. [Mohe County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Yushu Arrested and Persecuted
Ms. Li Yushu, 69, was arrested by officers from the local Domestic Security Division on April 29, 2018, for posting informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong and talking to people about it.
Several officers beat her, targeting her head. The police also searched her belongings and later ransacked her home and confiscated all her Falun Gong books, cellphones, and players.
4. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Jinlan Arrested
Ms. Zhao Jinlan was arrested and her home was ransacked on May 3, 2018.
5. [Beijing] Ms. Zhu Yanting Detained
Ms. Zhu Yanting, arrested on April 8, 2018, is currently held at the Fengtai District Detention Centre.

6. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guan Ruixiang Persecuted
Ms. Guan Ruixiang was arrested at home by officers from the Jiangzhuang Police Station at the end of April 2018, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.
The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books. She was taken to a police station and threatened in order to force her to sign documents.
Ms. Guan was taken to the Weifang Hospital the next day for a physical examination. She was released because she failed the examination. Two or three days later, the police went to her home and harassed her again.
7. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested
Six practitioners were arrested on May 3, 2018. They are Mr. Rong Chuncheng, Mr. Gao Lianhong, Ms. Qiu Ruixiang and her husband, Mr. Guo Feng, and Ms. Mao Xingyue. Mr. Rong was later released.
8. [Weifang, Shandong] Mr. Li Fangqing’s Home Ransacked
Mr. Li Fangqing, in his 80s, was harassed by officers including Zhang Longshou from the Hanting District Domestic Security Division on May 4, 2018.
The police ransacked his home and confiscated a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong, and other personal items.

9. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Zhang Fengying, Ms. Sun Xiaojuan, and Ms. Tang Lihua were arrested by officers from the Gaoxin District Domestic Security Division and Dongming Police Station on April 19, 2018, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.
The police ransacked their homes. Ms. Zhang was released that day because she failed the physical examination. Ms. Sun and Ms. Tang were detained at an unknown location.
10. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Zhang Xiuling and Ms. Mou Xiuqin were arrested on April 24, 2018. In addition, Ms. Pan, 72, was also arrested on the same day. She was held at the Liutuan Police Station and then released. Her printers and computers were confiscated.
11. [Fenxi County, Shanxi Province] Mr. Shi Aisheng Detained
Mr. Shi Aisheng was arrested and detained by officers from the Wenshui County Police Department on April 27, 2018.
12. [Lengshuijiang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Yinchu Arrested
Ms. Liu Yinchu, in her 70s, was arrested by officers from the Lengshuijiang City Domestic Security Division and the Buxi Police Station on April 28, 2018. She was released that afternoon.
13. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Four Practitioners Detained
Mr. Huang Youjun, Ms. Zhao Chunlan, Ms. Liu Guolan, and Ms. Zhou Lanxiang were arrested by officers from Huarong County on May 1, 2018. They are currently held in Huarong County.

14. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liao Nengqiang Harassed
Mr. Liao Nengqiang was harassed at home by officers including Liu Zhi from the Yuantong Police Station and officials including Song Yingqiong from Kehong Community on April 28, 2018.
The police interrogated Mr. Liao, ransacked his home, and confiscated Falun Gong books. They also took pictures of Mr. Liao’s home.
