HOAX EMAIL ALERT

It has come to our attention that there are a number of emails
circulating to Members of Parliament and local councilors that purport to be
from Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) practitioners.

These emails express extreme views which are not in accord with Falun
Dafa’s principles of truthfulness, compassion, tolerance, and its
teachings to look within and consider others before oneself.

We are seeking your cooperation in identifying the source of such emails. We
understand that these emails may appear to be genuine, particularly if a
recipient does not personally know local Falun Dafa practitioners.

However, we can clearly state that a Falun Dafa practitioner will not
send emails which desecrate the memories of Australians lost in the
MH17 disaster or make extreme references to Gods and the supernatural.
Furthermore, the practice of Falun Dafa is open to all, and we do not
solicit membership from anyone or any group.

Falun Dafa is a meditation practice in the Buddhist and Taoist
traditions of cultivating oneself to be a good and better person. As
you may know, the regime in China has waged a 15 year Cultural
Revolution-style campaign to eradicate Falun Dafa in China simply because
of the spiritual rejuvenation that it brought to tens of millions of Chinese
people.

The persecution extends into Australia and other countries with
attempts to portray Falun Gong practitioners negatively and deserving
of condemnation. Such propaganda accompanied the start of the
persecution in China in 1999, to dehumanise practitioners and set
the climate for acceptance of their incarceration and eradication. It
continues today in many guises, including the mass hoax emails we address
today.

We are endeavoring to have the appropriate authorities deal with this
matter and please accept our apologies for any offence or inconvenience
caused.

If you receive an email you may believe is a hoax please contact us
immediately. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation.
