Chinese Minister of Commerce, guilty of crimes of torture, comes to Australia

Commerce Minister Bo Xilai, former Governor of Liaoning Province for China’s Communist
regime, who is facing legal action in the NSW Supreme Court for torture and crimes
against humanity, has been welcomed by Australia’s Trade Minister this week.

Because
of his active persecution of Falun Gong, defendant Bo Xilai has been sued in nine
countries – America, Canada, British, Spain, Australia, New Zealand and Sweden.

On
13 September, David Kilgour (former Canadian Cabinet Minister) told reporters
that Bo Xilai is directly involved in the persecution of the Falun Gong group
and strong evidence suggests that Bo is directly involved in seizing organs from
living Falun Gong practitioners.

Defendant Bo Xilai planned, built and
invested 1 billion yuan into reconstructing large prison facilities within Liaoning
Province. The Masanjia Forced Labour Camp, noted by the UN as being notorious
for its brutality and inhumane persecution of Falun Gong, was allotted over 500
million yuan.

An Australian citizen and plaintiff in the court case against
Bo Xilai, Mr Yu Pan, will join other Falun Gong practitioners on Friday to protest
Bo’s entry into Australia this week. Mr Yu Pan was tortured with 40,000 volt electric
batons and nearly died in Long Shan Detention Centre, Liaoning Province in 2000
because he did not want to renounce his belief in Falun Gong.

Exposure
of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners was first revealed in
Liaoning Province at the Sujiatun concentration camp, which was built during Bo’s
rule. On 6 July, a report * by David Kilgour and human rights lawyer David Matas
concluded that Falun Gong practitioners were being killed for their organs on
a massive scale across China. During their successful visit in August, a bi-partisan
agreement was reached by the Australian Government and Opposition to ask the Chinese
communist regime to allow an independent investigation into the forced organ harvesting
allegations.

Bo Xilai is responsible for the genocide of Falun Gong practitioners
and he should be held to face court while in Australia,” said John Deller,
spokesperson for Falun Gong.

“While Foreign Minister Downer has publicly
called for a foreign official, such as the Solomon Islands Attorney-General, to
be brought to court, he has remained silent on calling Bo Xilai to justice,”
added Mr Deller.
